Introducing the Wipro Real-Time Cyber Resilient DRaaS and Vault—Powered by Zerto

Est. Reading Time: 4 minutes

In 2024, every business is a bull’s eye: the question is not if but when a cybercriminal will launch their offensive. When it comes to the protection of digital assets, the status quo is no longer an option. With regulations piling up and attacks metastasizing in number and ferocity, the stakes are too high for anything besides constant vigilance. Businesses need a gameplan, and they need to implement it now.

Globally, organizations are under siege from cybercriminals and are seeing firsthand that their legacy data protection products — built for a different era — are no longer effective because of the completely different nature of cyberattacks.

Zerto and WiPro for Resilient Operations

Zerto and leading technology services and consulting company Wipro understand what enterprise leaders need, and it is for this reason that we are incredibly excited to announce that the two companies are coming together to create more resilient business operations. The partnership combines the advanced real-time, cyber resilient, disaster recovery (DR) capabilities of Zerto with Wipro’s autonomous operations and services, helping to ensure the integrity and availabilities of their customer’s digital assets even in the face of more sophisticated and frequent attacks.

Foundation of WiPro Service Portfolio, Powered by Zerto

Wipro’s proactive cyber resilience and disaster recovery service portfolio is built on the gold-standard NIST 2.0 cybersecurity framework and guides organizations through every step of their cyber resilience journey. Wipro’s service framework starts with a rigorous assessment of the customers’ current capabilities and vulnerabilities. Once implemented, Wipro’s Zerto-based real-time cyber resilient service manages all aspects from steady state operations including real-time cyber-attack detection to rapid response and recovery as well as governance, ensuring a durable, effective cyber resilience stance that keeps customers’ digital assets safe and available.

RPO and RTO with WiPro Service, Powered by Zerto

Since organizations need to always be prepared to handle a cyberattack, Wipro’s 24X7 monitoring and management services and Zerto’s real-time cyber resilience functionality combine to provide some of the lowest recovery point (RPO) and recovery times (RTO) available in the market today.

Achieving RPOs of Seconds

It involves continuously capturing production data change blocks at intervals of just a few seconds and analyzing them in real-time for any anomalous changes in the level of encryption. If and when anomalous activity is detected, the Wipro service team is instantly alerted, and viable recovery checkpoints are quickly flagged, identifying exactly when the attack began, and which assets are impacted — an indispensable asset during a ransomware incident.

Achieving RTOs of minutes for Complete Applications and/or Databases

Zerto’s technology continuously replicates production data change to a secure DR environment. In the event of a DR incident, the Wipro team swings into action and can instantly identify a clean version of the impacted applications and/or VMs, select a recovery point seconds before the disaster and quickly initiate a recovery. Then, Zerto’s orchestration and automation take over, building the infrastructure needed to recover complete applications and/or database within minutes.

Meeting Compliance with Regulations and Standards

Wipro and Zerto understand additional digital asset safeguards are increasingly being mandated by regulatory authorities and now even by insurance companies specializing in cyberattack insurance. These mandates require that organizations not only maintain immutable copies of last resort but also the recoverability of effected digital assets with the least impact to a customer’s users.

Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault as a Service

Because of these strict regulations, Wipro and Zerto have also partnered to provide Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault as a Service. Including all the benefits of the Wipro Real-Time Cyber Resilient DRaaS, the cyber vault service provides an air-gapped, zero trust, physically isolated repository of last resort.

Should a catastrophic cyberattack completely obliterate both production and DR environments, Wipro is able to easily recover the digital resources needed to get their customers back online because the cyber resilience vault also acts as an isolated recovery environment (IRE) where applications and/or databases are recovered, scanned, tested and then promoted back into production. This all occurs in substantially less time than legacy technologies such as backup, ensuring organizations can get back to business quicker than ever.

Meeting DORA requirements

In the context of proliferating cybersecurity regulations, particularly in the European market, Wipro’s Zerto-based services are indispensable. Take for example the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), designed to strengthen the IT security of financial entities. It stipulates that relevant entities must ensure the “resilience, continuity, and availability” of ICT systems — which is precisely what Zerto’s continuous data protection functionality is designed to do. Likewise, DORA’s requirement of “mechanisms to promptly detect anomalous activities” is covered by Zerto’s real-time encryption detection. And Wipro’s Real-Time Cyber Resilient DRaaS and Cyber Resilience Vault services help support adherence to a good number of the broader NIS2’s intensive cybersecurity framework and other regulatory body requirements.

Your Game Plan for Resilient Operations

These are frightening times in cybersecurity, and the old methods are failing us. No business can afford a month of downtime without sustaining lasting damage, if surviving at all. Wipro’s Real-Time Cyber Resilient DRaaS and Cyber Resilience Vault as a Service, built on Zerto, were designed to meet modern-day demands of your digital assets.
