International Law Firm Ensures Business Continuity with IWVs Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service Powered by Zerto
Singapore, 19 July 2016 — Zerto, setting the standard for protection, recovery and migration of data in cloud and virtualised data centres, today announced that international law firm RHTLaw Taylor Wessing (RHTLTW) has deployed a Disaster-Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) solution powered by its Zerto Virtual Replication. The DRaaS, deployed and supported by Zerto’s international partner, ICONZ-Webvisions (iWV), will boost the reliability of RHTLTW’s ICT infrastructure and ensure business continuity.
RHTLaw was established in Singapore in 2011 and in 2012, the Firm joined the Taylor Wessing Group, giving clients access to a network of legal professionals across 33 offices in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
As an innovative and technology-driven law firm, RHTLTW has deployed applications for practice management, document management and document versioning as well as enterprise solutions for accounting and customer relationship management. It also invests in virtualisation to optimise the use of its hardware resources.
The firm’s IT infrastructure plays a vital role in supporting these applications. In the event of failure, its goal is to be able to recover its systems within a day. To achieve this efficiently and cost-effectively, RHTLTW subscribed to iWV’s Zerto-based DRaaS for enterprises.
Powered by Zerto Virtual Replication, the DRaaS delivers enterprise-class virtual replication for both VMware and Hyper-V environments and enables the law firm to rapidly restore its business applications and data by failing over to a dedicated virtualised environment based on its disaster recovery (DR) requirements. These are determined by the firm’s Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO).
By subscribing to the DRaaS solution, RHTLTW is able to address its DR needs without having to invest in additional on-premise hardware or software, or in manpower and expertise. The service enables the firm to:
- Avoid the complex integration and high licensing costs needed for other DR solutions such as SAN (storage area network)-to-SAN replication.
- Avoid vendor lock-in by making use of commodity hardware instead of expensive, proprietary SAN-based solutions.
- Free up IT manpower resources from disaster recovery operations so that they can be deployed to more mission-critical tasks.
- Ensure scalability of the DR solution with virtual machine replication, without the need to procure new hardware or software.
