What does Zerto do? How can you learn about Zerto and deploy labs—while earning a certification? Enter “Managing Zerto: Setup, Protection, and Recovery,” a new instructor-led training taught by expert HPE instructors. HPE Discover 2022 marked the first time this course was taught in person. Students came early for two packed days of pre-conference training—the perfect way to tee up the rest of the exciting week at HPE Discover!
After gaining an overview of Zerto’s use cases from disaster recovery to backup, long-term retention, and multi-cloud mobility, customers and partners experienced its ease of use first-hand using Zerto labs. The lab exercises allowed them to install Zerto, pair production and recovery sites, restore files and folders, perform test and live failovers, and restore VMs from long-term retention. They received informed and instant answers from seasoned HPE Education instructor, Emil Velez, while focusing on using Zerto in hybrid or on-premises environments with VMware vSphere.
“As a storage instructor I was used to replication of block data between disk arrays and then having to script turning off replication, presenting disks at the DR site, and then starting an application or VMs,” said Velez. “Zerto makes [replication] so simple and easy for virtual machines and it opened my eyes to a different way of doing business for disaster recovery. It was exciting and fun to teach a face-to-face course and I did enjoy being able to see what people understood and helping them when they asked questions. Discover was my first opportunity in years.”
