Query About Microsoft Windows 7 OS Migration

  • Hello Team,

    This is Regarding Microsoft Windows 7 OS Migration using Zerto.

    As we are going to have migration on 14-Sep-2019 using Zerto. We have some VMs with Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit) on the Source VCenter. Could you please check and confirm us whether we can migrate the Microsoft Windows 7 (64/32-bit) VMs using Zerto. If not, please let us know the technical reason for not able to migrate.
    Kindly find the Source and Target VCenter version details as follows.

    Source VCenter Version:

    Hello Israel,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

    @Team,

    Please someone check and advise me on this.

    Hello,
    Zerto supports replication of a Windows 7 VM. However, Re-IP for a Windows 7 VM would not be supported.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your update. Please clarify the following things as well.

    1. Please confirm if any other ZVM version will support Re-IP for Windows 7 VM. Or any of the Zerto version will not support Re-IP for Windows 7 VM.
    2. Even if the Zerto will not support Re-IP for Windows 7 VM, Can we manually update the Source IP i.e,(Re-IP) in Target.

    Hi there,

    -Per the Interoperability Matrix, there are no currently supported versions Zerto which support re-IP for Windows 7 in VMWare. Replication to Azure does support re-IP for Windows 7.
    -You are able to manually change the IP at the target locaton after failover.

    Does this help?
