Long Term Retention and Failovers

We want to see if LTR would be useful for us. We’d probably stand up some 1U boxes in each DC, and use those as LTR repos. However, we want to understand how it works and I couldn’t find info for our use case in the technical documentation. Our management likes to move apps between our two sites more than once a year, but these aren’t failover tests, they’re full failovers. If the failover is successful the app is left in place and protection is reversed. What happens to LTR when that happens?
