Live Failover – Does this create new Vmware Machine ID’s in the Vmware database? Customer has programs like backup that rely on Vmware Machine ID. Last time when customer did failover, Vmware ID’s changed when VM’s failed back. Some programs like backup had to be reconfigured since Vmware ID changed.

Yes when you do a Move, Failover Live or Failover test a new Vmware ID is created. I know backup software like Veeam rely on this ID and when the machine is failed over to the recovery side the backup jobs fail due to their reliance on that ID.
