Migration to New Data Centre

  • We are going to migrate our data centre as per the following requirement:

Site A: Current Production Site ——–>Site B Current DR Site

Site C : Future Production Site ———-> Site D: Future DR Site

    Our requirement is as follows:

    Replicate from SiteA —–>SiteC

Break the link between Site A and Site C

    Failover to Site C

Replicate from Site C to Site D

    Failover to Site D

    Fail back to Site C

Once done we establish the connection between Site A and Site C.

How can we make sure that data replication is done from Site A to Site C and not the other way round?

If this scenario is possible at all? Or an alternate scenario.

    Hello Sultan,

Mike from Zerto here. If I am following your scenario properly, what you will have in the end is the following (assuming you have a license that allows for One-To-Many and that Reverse Protection is being used in all Failovers):

    • VPGs going from Site C to Site D
    • VPGs going from Site C to Site A
    • All VPGs going from Site A to Site B will remain untouched

May I ask why the requirement is to have replication going from Site A to Site C in this scenario? I do not believe there is a way to have replication going from both Site A to Site C and Site C to Site D if all of the same VMs are being replicated without some sort of VM cloning being done.
