Recommendation Needed

  • I have the following senerio coming up in my environment and would like some recommendations.

We currently have 3 datacenters, 2 Primary and a DR datacenter

As it stands right now, we are using Zerto to replicate servers in the 2 primary datacenters to the DR datacenter.

at one of our primary sites we are getting the UPS appliance replaced and need to power down the entire site for at least 8 hours.

We would like to failover all VPGs from the site that will be down for 8 hours over to the DR site and run out of there why the UPS work is being completed.

Once the work is completed, we would like to failback to the primary site.

Ideally we would not want to lose any historical checkpoints by commiting the failover during the 8 hours.

    Is this doable?

    Is there a better way?

any recommendations or feedback is appreciated

    Thanks

    Hi,

    This is Kalsang from Zerto.

Unfortunately, Failover Live is not meant to run for 8 hours without committing it. You would have to commit it and all the previous journal checkpoint will be reset.

It’s not doable unless you’re running a Failover test.

    Best regards,
