What means “failed to remove mirror” after a VPG deletion?
Hey Raffaello,
I’m reasonably sure this means that the replica disks were not removed in the DR site from the recovery VRA. This could be due to many reasons, but more than likely is that they were already removed by taking the datastore offline for example. Thanks,
Joshua

When a VPG is deleted, any associated mirrors should also be removed to ensure proper cleanup and resource management. However, if the mirror removal process encounters an error or failure, the message “failed to remove mirror” is displayed.
The specific reasons for this failure can vary. It could be due to technical issues, permissions, or conflicts with other resources. To resolve this issue, it is recommended to check the error logs or contact your network administrator or cloud service provider for assistance. They can help troubleshoot the issue and ensure that the mirror is properly removed.
Hello Raffaello, I don’t think you can recover them, they must be deleted.
The phrase “failed to remove mirror” typically indicates that there was an issue or error encountered while attempting to remove a mirrored virtual machine (VM) or a virtual protection group (VPG) during a deletion process. Candy Crush
In the context of virtualization and disaster recovery technologies, a mirror refers to a replica or a copy of a virtual machine that is maintained for backup or redundancy purposes. Mirroring is often used to ensure data availability and fault tolerance.
When deleting a mirrored VM or a VPG, the process involves removing the mirror or the mirrored VM from the system. However, encountering the message “failed to remove mirror” suggests that an error occurred during this removal process. The exact cause of the error can vary and may require further investigation or troubleshooting.
Some common reasons for encountering this error could be connectivity issues, permission or access restrictions, conflicts with dependencies, or technical glitches within the virtualization or disaster recovery system.
