ZVM high availabilty

Hi
Once we are doing local protection, lets assume to other SAN, what are the options to make the ZVM resiliance as well?
In case the main SAN failure, the vcenter will continue to work since it has HA and will have secondary replica over the 2nd SAN.
But what about the ZVM?
I think that ZVM might be a weakness in the resilance chain. Doesnt it ?
Hello,
You cannot protect ZVM within the same vCenter site.
Please refer to protecting-and-recovering-zerto-virtual-manager KB:
https://www.zerto.com/myzerto/knowledge-base/protecting-and-recovering-zerto-virtual-manager/
I saw the V7 does have ZVM HA, at least on it’s roadmap.
Hello Chen,
ZVM Clustering was introduced in Zerto 7.0. For more information, please see the following:
MSCS? too complicated and “out of band” workaround to such premium product as Zerto.
And i see i need to change to external SQL server (because MSCS doesn’t replicate and data).
Is there any other built-in HA on the ZVM roadmap?
It should have….
Hello Chen,
Currently, Zerto is using Microsoft’s Failover cluster to get ZVM installed in clustered envrionments.
I’m not sure if this will be added as an in-band solution in the future but you can submit a feature request for that here:
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Ok, one more thing:
is there a KB describes how to move from local database to external ?
Hello Chen,
Please see the below document:

Hi, thanks.
What about vsphere 6.5 FT feature? Will it work as well?
Because it can be much easier to implement, doesn’t it ?
Hello Chen,
Can you elaborate on what you mean by vSphere 6.5 FT feature?
Sure
My ZVM on the protected site is based on vsphere VM.
vsphere has built in Fault Tolerance (FT) feature,
the question is whether ZVM supports this solution for High Availability and continues operation for ZVM
Hello Chen,
Thank you for clarifying. FT on the ZVM has never been tested and therefore, is not supported at this time. I would suggest using the link Elad shared to open a Feature Request for FT support on the ZVM.
