We have a history of backups in evault/carbonite. is there anyway to transfer that date into zerto?

Mike from Zerto here. There is no functionality in the product to allow for transferring backup data into Zerto at this time. If you would like to have that functionality added to the product, I would recommend navigating to the link below and opening a Feature Request:
