How to Enable LTR
The forum ‘Support Q & A’ is closed to new topics and replies.
Hey guys,
I’ve setup an Azure Databox Gateway that we would like to couple with LTR to test, but I’m not able to find the way to enable LTR.
Is a new site required for this? It looks like LTR is just disabled at a higher level than the VPG’s.
Please let me know
Cheers
Max
Hello Max,
Mike from Zerto here. LTR for replication into Azure is not currently in the product at this time, although that is on the roadmap for future releases.
Hi Mike,
Max is just using Databox Gateway as the back end. It is presented to Zerto as an SMB share.
This has been added as a repo in Zerto.
We cannot see the option in v7 to modify a VPG to add LTR.
The VPGs are showing feature disabled. Why?
Hello David,
Elad from Zerto here.
As mike mentioned earlier, the reason for thefeature to be disabled is because its not yet supported for public cloud environments.
Please take a look in the following release notes for version 7.5:
On page 26, it is mentioned that Long Term Retention is not supported where the protected or recovery site is a Public Cloud.
As Mike stated, LTR for public cloud environments is on the roadmap for future releases.
