If I reduce the number of journal checkpoints for example from 3 days to 1 day would this reduce the Journal size? or because the Journal volumes are VMDK’s is this not possible?

Hello Sturat,

Once you reduce the journal history from 3 days to 1 day it will hold checkpoints for 24 hours.

Clearly that can affect the journal VMDK size, although the Journal size is affected by the I/O change rate, In case you concerned about storage allocation – consider changing the Journal hard size limit.
