Journal History Storage

What is the impact of losing your Journal History data when it pertains to recovery? I have to temporarily move my journal history data to a lesser redundant form of storage.
Hello,
Contara from Zerto Support.
The purpose of the Journal History data is for checkpoints for VPG FailOver Test/Live and Move.
If the VPG is losing the Journal History data, the VPG might not have the latest checkpoints to do Failover Test/Live or Move. You might end up to do two things to fix the Journal History data
If you do want to storage vMotion Journal History data see below kb:

Thank you.
In the event that the journal history storage is no longer available, can you failover to the last checkpoint that was sync’d ? Or will failover not work without the journal data intact ?
Hello Lee,
You only need one checkpoint to do the FailOver Live/Test. It really doesn’t matter what checkpoint you are using. As long the VPG FailOver has access to checkpoints.
Thank you.
