Limits to Datastore DR Capacity

I just took the support over for this application and I appreciate any help or direction. I am running version 6.5 and I cannot find where to set the limit on how much data Zerto can use per Datastore.
I’m looking in “Setup, Datastores (view general)”. I shows the DR usage / Capacity (GB) is the same as my
Total Usage / Capacity (GB) and I would like to limit it from filling up the LUN. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
Hello James,
Thank you for raising this question.
The amount of datastore Zerto uses for its operation can be limited by setting the hard limit for Journal size.
Journal Size Hard Limit: The maximum size that the journal can grow, either as a percentage or a fixed amount. The minimum journal size set by Zerto Virtual Replication is 8GB.
For every existant VM in your VPG, you can do this by entering the Edit VM in Zerto GUI:
(To change the replication settings per virtual machine, click VM SETTINGS. The Advanced VM Replication Settings dialog is displayed.)
To make this change apply for every new VM added, you can do this by entering the Edit VPG in Zerto GUI:

James,
My name is AJ from Zerto Support. Unfortunately, Zerto does not have a tool to stop data from flowing into a datastore. I recommend taking a look at what you have set your journal hard limit and make sure that the limit is not set to “Unlimited”. This should be set to a hard number or a “%”. You can find this information here : Edit VPG -> replication tab -> VM settings -> review Journal Hard limit.
Let me know if this information is helpful.
Thank you for the response. I have set the Journal hard limits and will monitor the LUN sizes for growth. Have a great day everyone.
