MSCS shared fail over disk protection
The forum ‘VMware’ is closed to new topics and replies.
Hello, I have an MSCS with a shared disk, configured on a VMWare VVOL using Pure as our backend storage. (similar to the way RDM was used to create shared disks). Will Zerto protect my cluster? I was told the RDM method of cluster shared disk was not supported.
Thanks,
Rob Bell
It works as long as your recovery destination is a VVOL.
I have an environment with 16 MSCS clusters, and I protect the primary cluster node with Zerto.
The VVOL thing is key because the cluster disk will not be found if the destination datastore is standard VMFS or NFS.

Quick question about your statement, you mentioned that you have 16 MSCS clusters and you’re protecting the primary cluster node, can I assume that is some kind of limitation on ONLY being able to protect the primary(active) node?
Thanks
