Planned Move Operation Question
The forum ‘Support Q & A’ is closed to new topics and replies.
We are planning to move an existing VM from one datastore to another datastore within the same vcenter instance. The datastores are geographically separated. My question is: During a move operation, does Zerto use the existing replica disks at the targeted recovery location to create/move the VM? Or would it copy the replica disks and essentially double the amount of disk space utilized until the replica disks are deleted? Thank you
Hi,
This is Vladimir M with Zerto. Zerto will use the existing replicated disks at the target site to spin up the VM.
Here is a link that helps explains the operation in further detail—–> http://s3.amazonaws.com/zertodownload_docs/Latest/Zerto%20Virtual%20Replication%20Zerto%20Virtual%20Manager%20%28ZVM%29%20-%20vSphere%20Online%20Help/index.html#page/AdministratorforZertoVirtualManager%2FMoving_VC.17.2.html
