I have been asked if it is possible to retain the original virtual machine data files (VMDKs) to speed the fail-back process. I didn’t see an option and didn’t think this was possible, but I thought I would pass the question along to support for an official response.
Hi,
This is Vladimir M with Zerto.
Zerto will keep the original VMDKs when doing a failover.
Here is a link that helps explains the failover process and keep the original VMDKS: http://s3.amazonaws.com/zertodownload_docs/Latest/Zerto%20Virtual%20Replication%20Zerto%20Virtual%20Manager%20%28ZVM%29%20-%20vSphere%20Online%20Help/index.html#page/AdministratorforZertoVirtualManager%2FFailover_VC.19.2.html
