SQL server DB set to “simple mode” during upgrade

Hi, our database administrators have noticed that the SQL database for each Zerto Virtual Manager gets set to “simple mode” during an upgrade. They would like to know if Zerto intends for the database to stay in “simple mode,” or if it’s just set that way simply for the duration of the upgrade. I see in this topic, https://www.zerto.com/myzerto/forums/topic/protection-during-upgrade-process/#post-26629, where Kalsang D says to ” • Make sure that the external ZVM SQL server database recovery model is configured to Simple.” before upgrading the ZVM. I’m assuming we’re talking about the same thing? As it is, our DBA’s have been changing this setting after our upgrades because they say the logging grows too large to quickly. We’re assuming we only want simple mode for the duration of the upgrade, but we’d like some confirmation. Thanks!
Hello Matt,
This is Kal from Zerto Support. Yes, we’re talking about the same as it was one of the requirements before upgrading the ZVM and you may change it to different modes after the upgrade.
Please feel free to contact us for further questions.
Best regards,
