Upgrade vCenter Appliance to 6.5

I am getting ready to upgrade our vSphere environment to 6.5 and I was wondering if anyone else has done this and hit any issues. I am running the most recent version of Zerto and while it says it supports 6.5 I do not see any documentation on zerto’s support site regarding any issues or steps to avoid. Thanks
The big here is that you definitely want to do an in-place upgrade of vCenter, not a migration to a new vCenter install. I’ve done the upgrade a few times over (5.0 to 5.5) and even did the conversion from vCenter Server to vCenter Server Appliance (5.5 to 6.0) and Zerto hasn’t really had any issues. I was always running compatible versions though of course.
The only hiccup that I will note is that if you do a Windows to VCSA migration with the VMware utility, you should know that the Zerto vCenter plugin’s and pairing will be lost. When I did this in my lab I just had to re-pair Zerto to vCenter…. but it is something you will see when you do that upgrade. (if your doing an in-place upgrade you wont see this behavior)
Justin – I was prepared to do this during my migrations, however neither actually needed it. I did the migration using the VMWare tool, and everything just worked afterwards, without me doing anything. I’m not sure why I didn’t have to re-register the Zerto plug-in. The VMWare migration tool even pointed it out and told me I’d have to re-register it. In reality though, Zerto just reconnected and started working immediately. Perhaps I just got lucky, I don’t know, but it might be useful to know this can happen, if other people experience the same thing.
