Why was CIFS removed in 6.5 and only NFS left ?

As title asked..why remove CIFS access to NAS’s and Windows shares to use for Repositories.
We introduced our Long Term Retention feature in ZVR 6.5 and only support NFS repositories. Support for CIFS / SMB repositories is planned for our next major release.

Is there planned support for Azure blob storage coming?
Thanks
I’m trialing 6.5 at the moment at my home lab for now.
got NFS share set on my NAS, but can’t setup new repository on this.
can’t find proper documentation for this version to set this up, just wondering if you are able to point me to the right direction.
I’m guessing I’ve got my syntax wrong here…..
I’ve created NFS called Zerto and I’ve enabled guest permission to read and write.
I put in x.x.x.x:/zerto on the path, but that’s a no go.
created diff NFS on my 2nd NAS, same error I’m getting.
any help would be appreciated. Cheers
I have the same problem and can’t seem to get around it.
